Live Boldly

Have you ever just sat at an intersection when the light is green? If you haven’t, I don’t recommend you actually trying it. When you sit at a green light you hold up the flow of what is suppose to be happening at that moment in time. You will get honked at, yelled at and even deal with people upset at the fact that you are sitting still. The drivers around you will push you to go forward because when there is a green light at an intersection you are supposed to drive through and keep going to your destination.

I want to ask you a question, why do we hesitate?

Why do we wait so long, think so hard and contemplate every possible problem that can come with the decision we are about to make. Is it out of fear, uncertainty, doubt? Some of the best things in life come from the opportunities we walk boldly into and take a chance on.

Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way suggesting you rush into something without caution. You never know what you could be walking into and therefore you should be alert. Sometimes it is understandable to slowly make your way into things. We go in with caution to make sure the situation we are about to walk into is the right thing to do, the right thing for us and the right direction for our lives.

But I think we sometimes play and manage our lives to be too safe. You need to be bold.

So many people can live years without actually living for a minute. God didn’t put us on earth to be sad and live a normal life but to be joyful, to enjoy His creation. This doesn’t give us the excuse to do whatever we want, but like any parent, as our Father, He wants us to be joyful in the lives that He has so graciously given us.

I want to challenge you to live boldly. I want to challenge you to go after what you want, to take the opportunities that come our way and make the best out of them.

If God is giving you the green light to it, why are you hitting your breaks and sitting at the intersection?

I recently stepped into something new and exciting and I wouldn’t have done it if I wasn’t going after what I wanted. Sometimes we learn more about God, about ourselves and our world when we put ourselves in places that scare us a bit. Don’t be afraid of the amazingly bold life you could be living.
